Nikon D70s Digital SLR Camera " Featuring Qualities of Nikon D70 Plus New Refinements

By Fred Gagnon

Nikon D70s Digital SLR Camera is an upgraded version of the Nikon D70 digital SLR camera. It offers an increased angle of coverage from its built-in flash. Its auto focus is more accurate than the Nikon D70. It also comes with EN-EL3e battery with higher capacity. Its LCD monitor is also larger.

Nikon D70s Digital SLR Camera features 2 inches or 50 millimeters LCD color monitor. It is a little larger than the 1.8 inches (46 millimeters) LCD monitor of the Nikon D70 digital SLR camera. However, both the Nikon D70 and Nikon D70s have 130,000 pixels.

It also features an increased 18 mm angle of coverage from its built-in flash. This is better as the flash in the Nikon D70 can only be used with lenses as wide as 20 mm. The built-in flash, which pops up automatically, is synchronized to a shutter speed of up to 1/500 seconds.

It has a sensitivity ranging between ISO 200 to 1600, which can be controlled automatically across the same range of settings. Just use the Auto ISO to maximize available light. It has auto focus accuracy and utilizes the 5-area autofocus system. Also included is the AF-assist illuminator for maximum performance under bad lighting conditions.

Nikon D70s digital SLR camera can be used with wired and cable-free remote control. It is compatible with the MC-DC1 remote cord and ML-L3 wireless remote control. For easy connectivity or direct printing, you can use a USB interface with the Nikon Capture (Version 4.2). The USB interface is also compatible with PictBridge printers.

The start-up time of this camera is a 0.2 seconds and it features a shutter speed of 30 to 1/8000 seconds. With Nikon D70, you can shoot up to 3 frames per second and 144 JPEG images with continuous burst.

It utilizes a 1,005-pixel sensor. In addition, it features 3D Color Matrix Metering, which enables the camera to produce images with accurate exposure. This metering system measures color, contrast, brightness and distance for each shot. You can also compare results with the 30,000 actual images available in its database.

Sporting EN-EL3e battery, it will enable you to shoot up to 2,500 images on a single charge. This new lithium-ion battery pack offers more capacity than the battery used in Nikon D70.

Like all other Nikon digital SLR cameras, Nikon D70s employs the Nikon DX format sensor and the Nikon F lens mount design. This enables it to use the other AF and DX Nikkor lenses, which gives you more options and versatility.

If you are looking for the same excellent image quality and high performance offered by the Nikon D70, this camera is ideal for you. The Nikon D70s Digital SLR Camera is a user friendly camera like the D70 but with additional refinements. - 20760
