Keyboard Beginners: 3 Secrets to Greatness

By Bryan Smith

If you are one of the many keyboard beginners and you aspire to be a great keyboardist one day, there is nothing that can stop you, but you need to have a great amount of determination to achieve your goal. There is no secret to the successes of the truly great keyboard players. All of them started out from where you are, but there are 3 distinct areas which the keyboard legends develop and stand out from the average players.

Education

The legends did not receive any special education when they first started as budding musicians. They were all known as keyboard beginners once as well. However, instead of branding them as being trained especially when they were younger, the correct way should be that they were educated correctly.

Many people fall wayward because they were misguided by teachers from the beginning. The great players are unlikely to have gone through such experience, instead they are more likely to be taught by capable teachers who emphasized on the importance of having a good foundation. The great players are likely to be the benefactor of good syllabus that suited their specific levels to ensure that they developed consistently.

Passion

Do the top keyboardists enjoy playing the keyboard? They certainly do. There is no one who can be able to put in so much time and effort into honing an art if he or she has no passion for it. It is perhaps safe to estimate that it takes a minimum of 5 to 10 extremely dedicated years for someone to be recognized as a true great, rising from the level of keyboard beginners. To sacrifice years of one's life away to pursue constant improvements only seems achievable with undying passion.

Hard Work

Compared to many keyboard beginners who complain endlessly when asked to put in a bit more time and efforts in exchange for improvements, the great keyboard players have made hard work a habit. To them, hard work is one of the necessary means to achieve their goals. The positivity spurs them on to more practices, every session of which brings them to a new level of satisfaction.

It takes an extraordinary effort for any keyboard beginners to progress and evolve into a great keyboard player. However, that is not to say that it cannot be done, but it will definitely take a sustained amount of determination, focus and concentration.

The reason why those at the top deserve so much of respect from us, is simply down to the fact that they stood strong when most would have given up or lured by distractions, and instead they persisted to seek the elusive perfection. - 20760
