Express Yourself With a Funny T-Shirt Design

By Dave Winters

One of the best ways to express yourself to the world is with a funny t-shirt design. Printed t-shirts can communicate with the world around you in many different ways. Almost anything can be on the front of a t-shirt. T-shirts are great promoters of causes, bands, people, or places that you love. Vintage rock t-shirts are also popular and sends a message for the musician or band.

Vintage rock t-shirts show your admiration for the rock bands that you like best. Most people believe that no one rocks harder than their favorite band. Wearing your favorite vintage rock t-shirt expresses this belief without question.

Funny t-shirt designs can send a different kind of message to those who see it. These shirts can be poking fun at something, promoting a cause, or just stating a funny joke. Funny t-shirt designs have become one of the most popular kinds of t-shirts to wear among people of all ages. College students especially wear a lot of funny t-shirt designs.

Wearing vintage rock t-shirts or shirts that have funny t-shirt designs communicate different messages to the people who see the shirt. One of the things that the shirts communicate is your sense of style. A vintage t-shirt will communicate a desire to go back to your roots. People might see you as almost a hippie or even that you are not very interested in life. Wearing a funny t-shirt will make it harder for people to take you seriously. You might be seen as a light hearted person who loves a good time. It is important to consider the message you are sending when choosing a t-shirt.

The funny t-shirt designs and vintage rock t-shirts you wear also indicates your personality with the rest of the world. Your shirt will tell what kind of humor strikes your funny bone, or what type of music you like best. Much of what is said by your t-shirt is subtle, but it still gets across sub-consciously.

Another message that t-shirts can send across are messages of approval or disapproval. If you are wearing a funny t-shirt design that depicts a slogan that makes fun of road signs, then you may be communicating that you see the lighter side of more serious issues. Wearing a vintage rock t-shirt will indicate that you approve of the content and materials that that rocker or rock band sings about.

One of the cool things about printed t-shirts is that they can make good conversation starters. If you see someone wearing a t-shirt for a familiar rock band, or if you find their shirt entertaining, it can help to break the ice with them. When you wear funny t-shirt designs other people may be more likely to strike up conversations with you.

For these reasons it's crucial to consider carefully when buying a vintage rock t-shirt or a funny printed tee. Your t-shirt can say a lot about you and how you feel about the world. But the most important thing is to simply have fun. What are you communicating with your t-shirts? - 20760

You Can Watch Comedy Movies Online

By Henry Carpeneter

This year, the movie industry produced well over 275 films. In this group of over 300 films, I think at least seventy, maybe more, would be classified as comedies. Here is a list of the better comedies out there for you.

FORGETTING SAHRAH MARSHALL: Following a devastating break up with his girlfriend Sarah, a TV actress, Peter eventually decides to escape to a Hawaiian resort to start anew and forget about Sarah. As one might expect, upon checking into the resort, the first thing he sees is his ex and her new man, who is a mega rock star. This sets up as a classic romantic comedy.

GET SMART: Agent 86, AKA Maxwell Smart is at it again, and everything is under "CONTROL". The classic James Bond spy spoof, the shoe phone, and all the great one liners. It is a fun look back at this classic spy spoof TV series.

HAMLET 2: Unsuccessful actor Dana Marshz has moved on to teaching high school theatre to apathetic students. The school loses a building due to destruction, so the administration decides the theater curriculum must be eliminated. Wanting to fight, he is on a mission to save the program by producing Hamlet 2, an original interpretation of the Shakespeare classic, which he creates.

MADAGASCAR: ESCAPE 2 AFRICA: As the title suggests, this is the sequel to the box office hit Madagascar. Our cast of lost animals, Alex (Lion), Marty (Zebra), Gloria (Hippo), and Melman (Giraffe) are attempting to leave Madagascar, and go back to New York's famous Central Park Zoo, from their first adventure. As opposed to going home, with the Penguins leading them astray, they find themselves going to Africa, for more adventures.

PINEAPPLE EXPRESS: Underachieving pothead Dale unfortunately has just viewed a crooked police man, and a powerful drug dealer, kill someone. They see him witness the killing. Understanding that he has been seen, he drops his joint of pineapple express, and runs. The weed is so special, that the bad guys can track it. The chase is on, the bad guys are hunting, and Dale and dealer Saul are desperately hiding from the bad guys.

ROLE MODELS: Danny and Wheeler, a couple of energy drink sales people, might be seeing some hard jail time after trashing the company truck. The only way to avoid serving jail time is to work in community service for 150 hours. Their task will be to work as mentors with difficult children in a big brother type situation. The stage is set for some good comedy.

STEP BROTHERS: Two forty year old child adults, who still live with their single parents, will now have to live in the same room because their parents have wed, big problems loom. Casting John Reilly and Will Ferrell as the key players, and the conditions are right for a funny movie. This comedy looks like a sure thing for comedy lovers.

TROPIC THUNDER: Overloaded with good actors we find ourselves watching a parody of recent war movies. Things are going bad, so to get the over rated cast of actors to create a quality war film, the desperate director into the wild jungle, leaving them to fend for themselves. The goal is to overwhelm them so they will produce a work of genius, which will be caught on hidden cameras in the area. When the director blows up on an old French land mine, the crew is left on its own, and they start acting, thinking it's a big set, when things start to get very real. Written, directed, and acted in, by Ben Stiller.

ZACK AND MIRI MAKE A PORNO: The bills are piling up and Zack and Miri, platonic friends since childhood, really need to find an answer to their money problems. Their solution? Oh, that?s easy, start making porno flicks. As you can imagine this is a perfect environment for a great comedy.

These films, and many, many more, are yours to buy, get as a rental, or even download right onto your computer. Accessing movies through downloads from websites online is quickly becoming one of the most popular ways for accessing DVD's. Check online to find websites to access this technology. It's the best way to build a personally selected library of films. - 20760

My Favorite Movies 2008 By Clyde: Transporter

By Kerri Climbes

I have put together a sampling of movie hits for 2008. This list consists of the movies I enjoyed watching this year. I hope you find some films here that are good viewing.

WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS: I guess it was a typical night out in Vegas. Barely remembering what had happened, Jack and Joy get up the next day and find out that they are married. When they win a $3 million jackpot, the question is who should get the money, so they try to settle it in court. The strange ruling is that for the next few months they must stay together, and see if they can settle their differences. With an eye on the jackpot, they each try to get the other to give up, as both desire to get the money for themselves.

FORGETTING SAHRAH MARSHALL: Grief stricken from a break up with Sarah, a TV sitcom actress, Peter decides to go on a trip to the Hawaiian Islands to get past the break up. As you might guess, when he checks into the resort hotel, the first thing he sees is his ex girlfriend and her new lover, who's bigger than life. This film is a classic romantic comedy.

TROPIC THUNDER: With an abundance of acting talent this film is a spoof on many of the most popular war movies. To get better results from his underachieving super stars to make a first rate war movie, the desperate director into the wild, and leaves them on thier own. His theory is to frightnen them into the realism needed for a graet war film, that will be recorded on hidden cameras. When the director dies unexpectadly by stepping on a real land mine, the actors are now truely on their own, and they start acting, thinking it's a big set, when things start to get very real. Written, directed, and acted in, by Ben Stiller.

10,000 B.C.: This cinematic production will take you back almost 12,000 years. When mysterious warlords from another tribe storm the Yaghai people, they capture, among others, Evolet. A strong young hunter, D'Leh, who loves Evolet, organizes a band of hunters to chase down these warmongers, and rescue Evolet and the others.

JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH: Searching for his missing brother, professor Trevor Anderson goes on a mission that leads him to the center of the earth. This is a remake of the original 1959 movie, that was created from the brilliant book by celbrated writer Jules Verne. Starring Brendan Fraser and Josh Hutchinson.

MADAGASCAR: ESCAPE 2 AFRICA: As the title suggests, this is the continuation to the animated smash hit Madagascar. Our cast of lost animals, Alex (Lion), Marty (Zebra), Glorial (Hippo), and Melman (Giraffe) want to return to New York's famous Central Park Zoo, and go back to the lives they know. Instead, due to the Penguins, they find themselves going to have more adventures first.

GET SMART: Maxwell Smart, as agent 86, is at it again, and he has us right where he wants us. The evil organization (KAOS) vs the good guys (CONTROL), the shoe phone, and all the classic quotes. It's a trip down memory lane to look back at the antics of Maxwell Smart.

BOLT: Bolt: This movie is a movie for the whole family. Bolt, is a dog who is an actor, who in his TV show, has superpowers. His problem is that he honestly believes he has superpowers. After he is unexpectedly thrown into the real world, he discovers that he is just a dog. Now, trying to get back home, he is aided by a cat named Mittens, and an overweight hampster named Rhino.

STEP BROTHERS: When two 40 year olds, who each live with their single parents, will now have to share a bedroom because their parents marry, you can only imagine the mess. With Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly in those roles, and this seems to be a great recipe for a funny movie. This movie is a best bet for a good time this year.

Many people will buy films, and views them on their home entertainment system. A more recent method for getting films is by downloading them directly from online sources. Online providers have websites that with a membership, you can download virtually any movie ever made. - 20760

What Gives a Violin Value?

By Dewey Finn

The short answer and the long answer to this question is the sound of the violin. The short answer is best illustrated by a story related to me by our Luthier. He has over 50 years of experience and has attended hundreds of Luthiery conventions and has lectured at many of them. He told me that there are no liars at Luthier conventions. He went further to explain that presenters can show their nicest violins. They can lecture on techniques and show off the most beautiful of woods and engraving on a violin. Their violin can look pretty. It can have taken hours and weeks and months to prepare it. However, it all comes down to that moment when the player puts the bow to the strings and makes music. The violin can be the most beautiful violin ever made but if it sounds like shit, it is worthless. It is just that simple. You can have a violin appraisal done at your local luthiery.

The long answer to this question is that there are degrees of quality and then there is always personal preference as sound is a very subjective judgment as to what is pleasing to the ear. There seems to be a standard that has been set from the time violins were perfected. The sound of the Stradivarius is the standard for most trained ears. However, depending on the type of music to be played and how the instrument feels to the player, some prefer instruments of the designs of other masters such as the Amati or Guarnerius family designs or those of Maggini.

Degrees of quality depend on the quality of the wood and then the talent and knowledge of construction techniques of the maker of the violin. The wood used by Stradivarius in making his violins is legendary in that no one has been able to duplicate his process for finding the right wood and then treating it with the right processes to achieve the same result on a consistent basis. Of course his were all hand made. As the factory process was applied to the making of violins, more violins were made and more diverse maple and spruce forests were harvested. This is evident in the variety of grains of the maple in the masters' copies that were produced from the middle of the 19th century up until the start of the 20th century. There are millions of examples still circulating. What sorts them out is the test of time on the wood and how well they were made. Some cottage factories and later, the mass production factories varied greatly in the thoroughness of their construction techniques. The quality ranges from some very bad cottage factory made violins to the very nice Wolff Brothers violin mass produced at the turn of the century. Violin making then moved to where the labour was cheaper so in the 20th century factories migrated from Europe to Japan to China.

I have witnessed a lot of violin playing on a wide quality range of violins. I have been blessed with watching some very talented young violinists play our instruments. When they play the best players play the best instruments, you can see them go to that special place that musicians go where all they see and feel is the music. It is joyful to watch and for the violinist it is the soul of the experience of playing. The better the sound, the more blissful the experience is for the player and the listener. And that very simply is where the value lays in violins. - 20760

Test Drive Your Tattoo Design Before Making it Permanent

By Ben Swank

Choosing a tattoo is difficult. If it isn't, you have not done your homework. Too often, newcomers will stroll into their local tattoo parlor, pick up a few books or check out the artwork on the walls, and thirty minutes later sit down in the chair for their session.

That is probably the worst decision you can make concerning your tattoo's appearance. It's increasingly common, thanks to the fact that more people are sitting down to get inked these days, and thanks to advances in tattoo removal technology. But the fact is that tattoo removal is imperfect, not entirely effective, and can lead to skin scarring and discoloration. You should never rush into a new design. Take your time before getting that design permanently memorialized on your skin. Here are a few tips to make sure you love that tattoo as much a year from now as you do today.

Your first step is to determine where the tattoo will be positioned. There's no sense in looking for a design just yet, because many designs only "work" in certain areas. For example, designs for hip tattoos often will not work as lower back tattoo desings. It's even a good idea to apply a similarly-sized temporary tattoo in your target location so that you can be sure that you like the placement.

Next choose your design: first narrow down your selection into a style of tattoo that you like, and then narrow it further by finding several designs within that style that appeal to you.

Now comes the fun part: you're going to try that tattoo on and model it for a few days. What you will want to do is grab several sheets of professional transfer paper that tattoo artists use in studios to transfer tattoo designs onto your skin. You can find samples on this tattoo finder blog. You'll trace your design onto the transfer paper (you can even use a lightbox), and then have a friend transfer it to your skin. Grab some fine-tipped, colored permanent markers, and have your friend fill in the design. It doesn't have to be perfect at this point; all you want to do is make sure that the size, location, and design are suitable.

Sleep on it: now just take your time, continue observing your test tattoo, and trying on different designs. You can see, with a high degree of accuracy and realism, what that tattoo is going to look like on your skin. If you don't like, just scrub really hard and try again with a clean canvas! Eventually you'll find a perfect design.

Additionally, if your tattoo will include a lettering style, don't limit yourself to what you see in the parlor's books. There are literally thousands of freeware fonts that you can download and install on your computer. You can use a graphics program (even a free one like gimp) to add the tattoo lettering to your design of choice, and then transfer it to your skin with the rest of the test tattoo. Like the design, you'll eventually find a font that is perfect for your new tattoo.

To some, this sounds like a lot of work, and that's true. But this tattoo will be with you for a lifetime, so you will want to do your research. Use a tattoo finder to locate a great design, browse through the many free fonts available online, and test drive all of the promising tattoo designs before you ink them permanently. Your effort will be rewarded many fold in the years to come. - 20760

Exterior Design Projects Include Necessary Maintenance

By Chad Dethelo

When considering exterior improvements, there are many basic areas that deserve a great deal of attention. There are the major maintenance and repair jobs that need to be done regularly; then there are the more aesthetic, decorative projects that are often more fun and creative.

Exterior projects that require timely maintenance include windowsill, gutter and downspout cleaning. While you are cleaning your windowsills and drapery, it is very important to inspect the seals for any leaks. If air is able to either come in or out of your house you are wasting valuable and expensive energy, both in the summer and winter. Water leaking into the house is will damage both your interior and exterior.

Water sitting or draining poorly off of your windowsills can cause immeasurable damage for the windows, not to mention the entire house. If there is water leaking behind the window seal and behind the fascia of the house, you can eventually have very large problems with how structurally sound your house is. Keeping the paint and caulk around your house's windows fresh will keep many of these problems at bay.

Cleaning the roofs, gutters, eaves and downspouts of a house are another very important part of exterior home maintenance. There are all kinds of available systems to keep the gutters covered, cleaned and free from the larger debris. Downspouts must also be maintained to ensure the rain that falls onto your house runs away from the property. Standing water can be very hazardous to the health of a home's foundation.

Landscaping is also a very important component to the structural condition as well as the beauty of your home. Again, many yards may need retaining walls and drains in certain places in their yards to wash the water away and keep the home firmly on its foundation. Healthy grass and tree root systems are beneficial to the integrity of the grounds surrounding the home as well. If you have trees that need pruning so they do not fall over or shed branches on to, or worse, in to your home, make sure you take care of this as quickly as possible.

There are many more aspects to landscaping, with many of components adding to what is typically referred to as curb appeal, or what looks good to passers by from the curb. These projects can be more fun and are less necessary, unless you let it go so far the neighbors begin to complain. Landscape architecture has sprung up as a very big business, and many companies specialize in yard maintenance. There are several options, from bushes and flowers, to extensive walkways and fountains. The main focus should be the outdoor elements that make you want to be outside, enjoying your yard. - 20760

Buying Canvasses Or Making your Own?...

By Anna Meenaghan

Some people like to make their own canvasses. Therefore this is intended as a "how to do it" guide. What is the canvas made of you may ask? It actually is a substance derived from the flax plants which is called linen. It is quite strong and most of this I would imagine comes from Belgium and Ireland. You can buy it by the meter in art shops.

Buying canvasses now in any number of retail outlets is comparatively easy and they are also relatively cheap. Even so, some people always make their own. They might want to make non standard sizes, so for anyone new to this, this is how you do it - buying canvas by the metre.

Therefore, you will need your own stretcher to start with. These actually are pieces of wood that will slot together. A staple gun with some staples, wedges, acrylic gesso, of course some canvas, scissors, some sort of hammer, plus a small household paintbrush. A word of warning, do not buy real gesso as it is not too flexible and it is made from chalk.

So, the canvas frame is made up by slotting your four wooden pieces together. Your canvas has to go right across this, leaving a generous two inches extra at all four sides. At this point take your scissors and cut the canvas. You need to start stapling the wood to the canvas on the longest side in the middle. When you have done this, pull the canvas across so that it is very tight and staple the middle to the other side.

The same happens on the other 2 sides. What I do then, is to begin stapling one at a time, alternately one side, then the other across the frame from the centre staple. Face your frame face downwards working in the same style on the back of the canvas.

This should keep it pretty firm. I personally do not like the staples down the sides, so I would probably go straight to the back. Then you have the corners to sort out, so try to flatten them well before stapling. Now the hammer comes into play.

Take the support wedges and very carefully, with the hammer, in the back four corners, tap them in. What you need to then do, is with your paintbrush, apply a couple of layers of acrylic gesso. Make sure that the first coat is dry first of course.

Now, if you want to use the ready made canvasses, what should you be looking for? These are usually made of cotton duck or linen, but sometimes they also have synthetics in them. There is often a good assortment of sizes, but it is better to consider what type of texture you need.

Fine detailed work requires a canvas that is very fine woven. An open weave may result in being an ideal to making a rougher look to your work as it usually peeps through.

Painting boards usually come readily primed with acrylic. Dual purpose, usable for oils or acrylics. However, paint will flake if you use acrylic paint on an oil based board as these should only be used for oils. - 20760

Top Digital Mp3 Player Secrets

By Anne Ahira

If you have been slow to continue with emerging technology innovations then a Digital Mp3 Player can be brand-new to you. As with any innovative technology, it may take quitea bit of trial plus error to understand it. Let's find out if the learning curve can be cut down.

What is a Digital Mp3 Player?

A digital mp3 player is a little device that you can amass song, photo, plus even video files on. The most ordinary version of digital mp3 player until recent times would only amass and play music files. The device runs by letting you to move files from your notebook to the player. Internally digital mp3 players include an imbedded program which reduces the large file into a smaller one, the reduction rates tend to be about 10:1. The information is then saved in what is recognized as flash memory.

Flash Memory?

Flash memory is a chip in digital mp3 players that maintains information without requiring a power source. It is also better suited to constantly changing or updating information. Without getting too technical, the bottom line is you can erase and record new information much quicker than with a traditional hard drive, moreover it is also much smaller.

This makes it a perfect application for the digital mp3 player, cell phones, digital cameras and the like.

Size of Memory

Now that you know a little about how a digital mp3 player works, it is important to know about the various sizes of flash memory that is available.

Computer storage has always been measured by the metric system, below is a list of the units:

Bit Byte Kilobyte Megabyte Gigabyte Terabyte

There are a few more levels; nevertheless, for a digital mp3 player the largest unit presently used is gigabytes. To select the acceptable size for your needs you must consider how you will apply your digital mp3 player.

For the casual user who merely wants access to their favorite music two gigabytes is a good place to start. The latest mass-market digital mp3 player can have as much as eight gigabytes. In addition, there are specialty devices that go as high as 160 gigabyte, and they have a price tag to prove it.

Music Only or Video

A person new to using a digital mp3 player may want to start small as indicated above. The simple digital mp3 player will plug into your computer via a USB port and most will allow you to drag and drop files from your computers media player. The main exception to this is the Apple I Pod, in order to put music on this device you will have to use the I Tunes software that comes with your digital mp3 player.

If you are a more advanced user or you simply must have the recent technology then a digital mp3 player which includes video playback, image storage, and even games can be more to your fancy. It should be said that these must be more technically challenging than a simple digital mp3 player can, but they are good.

Inference

Newbie's may want to stick with the basic digital mp3 player. At two gigabytes, you are able to save hundreds of songs, more than enough to use a day or even two. One final note on a beginner digital mp3 player, choose the one which has a digital display in order that you can thumb through your songs. Digital mp3 players like the shuffle do not own that option and it could be frustrating to spend a hundred songs before you get the one you desire to listen to. - 20760

How to Care for Your New Tattoo

By Ben Swank

Tattoo aftercare is vitally important to the health of your new tattoo, and it must not be ignored. Many people believe that once the needlework is done, their tattoo is a lock, but that is far from reality. The fact is that unless you properly care for your new tattoo, it could easily fade, lose saturation, flake, scar, or you could wind up with an infected mess on your body.

But if you ask a dozen tattoo artists how to take care of a new tattoo, you'll probably get a dozen different answers. The conclusion is that no one knows precisely what will work for everyone, so your best bet is to follow a conservative, consensus-driven aftercare procedure.

The most important rule of tattoo aftercare is 'listen to your tattoo artist.' Their advice will always trump the procedure outlined here because they know your tattoo best. In the event that they didn't give your directions, or they were incomplete, here's how to go about it.

Tattoo Aftercare Do's

Do use an approved aftercare moisturizer / healing cream Do leave your tattoo covered with the initial bandage for the recommended minimum time period (usually four hours or more), and do remove the bandage in no more than 12 hours Do prevent your tattoo from becoming wet Do keep your tattoo moisturized Do pat your skin dry when the tattooed area gets wet Tattoo Aftercare Don'ts

Don't allow your tattoo contact with sunlight or tanning bulbs Don't submerse your tattoo in water, and especially avoid chlorinated water Don't let your tattoo dry out Don't over moisturize your tattoo Don't pick your tattoo scabs Don't cover your tattoo with a bandage once the initial bandage has been removed Don't scratch your tattoo or allow it to bruise Tattoo Aftercare Procedure

1) Your shop should give you directions on how long to keep the original bandage (or film) on your tattoo. Absent a timeframe, wait at least four hours after leaving the shop, and then wash your hands thoroughly with an antibacterial soap. Like when you were a kid, sing the alphabet song while scrubbing to make sure you wash long enough!

2) Carefully remove the bandage that was placed over your tattoo at the parlor. With a gentle antibacterial soap, carefully wash the tattooed area, removing any of the ink residue, greasy covering, blood, etc. You can tell that the area is clean when it just feels like wet skin. Be very gentle with your skin. Pat your tattoo dry -- do not brush or rub dry.

3) Apply a thin layer of antibiotic cream to the tattooed area. Don't gob the ointment on; rather, drop some small beads on your tattoo, spread it around with your fingertips, and work it in. The area should be moist, but there should not be any buildup or streaks. If you have an expensive or deeply saturated tattoo, you might want to skip typical ointments like Neosporin, and jump directly to tattoo-specific creams like Tattoo Goo, H2Ocean Aftercare, or Black Cat Tattoo Cream.

4) Three to four times per day, apply a small layer of healing ointment to your tattoo. You will want to use enough to moisten the tattooed area, but not so much as to leave streaks or allow it to build up. Your goal is to moisturize the area only, so start with a small amount and work it in with your fingers.

The problem with over moisturizing the skin is that the inks can seep and fade from moisture, and that moisture includes more than just water. If you slather on a thick coating of Neosporin and keep it saturated throughout the day, your tattoo might heal in just over a week. Great news? Not so fast -- it will also result in faded inks. If, however, you lightly coat the area three to four times per day, your tattoo might take two to three weeks to heal, but the colors will set properly. This is a tough lesson for many to learn. In some cases, letting the body heal at its own pace makes more sense to your tattoo.

5) Keep your tattoo covered, and out of exposure to sun, moisture, and other danages, but don't cover it tightly. Ideally, a loose, breathable fabric can be worn. Don't scratch or pick your tattoo! If you must, gently slap the skin or use rubbing alcohol to relieve any itching or irritation.

While there might seem to be a lot of instructions to follow, each step is quite simple. The bottom line is that you need to pay attention to your tattoo, and allow the body to heal itself as naturally as possible. You will do everything you can to assist that process, but you don't want to rush nature. If you can do that, and stay diligent with your care for a few weeks after inking, you will be blessed with a rich tattoo that can be enjoyed for years to come. - 20760

Clark Gable - A Short Biography

By Danny Hoover

The many known to the world simply as Clark Gable was born in a small town in Ohio known as Cadiz. He was born with the name of William Clark Gable but preferred the nickname of Gabe or Clark Gable over his given one. He was married five times with his first two marriages ending up in divorce. His next couple of marriages, his wives died and the final wife was still living after his death.

Death seemed to surround Clark his entire life with the loss of two wives, his early death by heart attack in 1960 and his mother's death while he was only 7 years old. He quit school by the time he reached the age of 16 in order to take a job at an Akron, Ohio tire factory. From there he went through many different occupations such as oil fields, stocking and at one point he even sold ties.

By the time he reached the age of 24, Clark Gable had made his way to Portland, Oregon and while watching the play 'The Bird of Paradise', he was so inspired that he made the decision to get into acting. The manager of the theater, Josephine Dillon would help him reach Hollywood and his dreams as well as becoming his first wife.

In no time Clark had started to make new friends and one of them was the famous Lionel Barrymore who would suggest to MGM that Clark be screen tested. This testing though ended up poorly as Irving Thalberg did not feel he was fit for acting. This did not stop Clark because he would eventually land the co-acting role along side Joan Crawford in the 1931 film entitled Dance, Fools, Dance.

He would then follow in a role on the film Red Dust where his on-screen chemistry with his co-star made him popular and an instant hit. Gable and MGM would then get into a small spat over a role which he actively refused and as a punishment they sent him over to Columbia Pictures to work for less money. The film It Happened One Night ended up advancing his career even further when he took home an Oscar for his role in it.

MGM called Clark back to work where he filmed two movies, Mutiny on the Bounty and Gone with the Wind. However, Clark would leave Hollywood for a while due to the recent death of his wife in a plane accident. While gone, he joined up with the Army Corps and headed off into World War II.

After he finished up his military tour during WWII, Clark would stage a comeback film entitled Adventure that would become a flop. As a result, MGM felt they would not longer need his services and refused to renew his contract.

He would eventually star in other unknown films, but it was not until his death that one would be a hit. He died of a heart attack at the age of 60 as the film the Misfits was being released. - 20760

The bird

By Robet Jay

Living in the country we have come to expect seeing different species of animals. Deer occasionally grace our presence. Of course, once we are seen by them they quickly disappear. One day as I was looking out a back window there were 7 or so wild turkey. After flying away, they have not returned. Many different birds come to our three feeders. Sunflower seed is spread on the ground for the doves and squirrels. Cardinals and smaller birds also search for food on the ground but the smaller ones mostly enjoy the feeders with their perches. We started throwing it on the ground to keep squirrels from eating the plastic off our original bird feeders. Now we have "squirrel proof" feeders that do a good job of keeping them from the food contained within.

Living in the country there is plenty of land for all God's creatures. A wooded area begins within thirty feet of the rear of our house providing food and protection for wildlife living there.

What we didn't expect happened early one morning in the summer. With me being a sound sleeper, I could not imagine what my wife was saying at 2 in the morning. My glasses with thick lenses were on a table beside the bed, where I had left them before I laid down to sleep. A ceiling fan was on chasing the heat away. Barely awake I could see something attached to the fan, circling with the fan blades. Once, the object made oblong path around the fan. Soon, by wife had turned on the light, my glasses were on and we saw a bird following the path of the fan blades. I quickly closed the bedroom door to keep the critter from the rest of the house.

With the light on we realized it was a bat! Why didn't our cats alert us? The first task was to get rid of the bat. It was indeed following the path of the fan blades. Taking the screen off the windows we tried, lamely I might add, to divert its course with pillows and out the window. This was not working. I had folded the curtains over the top. Once, when the bat landed on the top of the curtains, he "walked" up the inside of the folds of the curtain. A fascinating site this would have been under different circumstances.

Obviously, this method was not working. A towel might work. My wife opened the door with the bat still following the flight of the fan blades. Returning with old towels, my wife and I started making attempts to again divert the bat outside the window, his freedom and ours. I didn't realize how high our ceiling was, although they are only 8 feet or so. The bat was evading our feeble attempts. I jumped, with the length of the towel spread out, and missed. Another attempt, nothing! Finally, my wife said, "you caught him." Now what do I do? Do I take him, still wrapped up, to the outside? Do I open the towel and hope he flies away? I opted for throwing the towel out the window and hoping he flew away.

With the windows now closed we opened the bedroom door to our two cats' right there wondering why we had locked them out! Lying back down, it was difficult to return to slumber land.

The next morning I went outside to retrieve the towel, wondering what I would do if the bat was still wrapped inside. Fortunately, he was gone. We are still wondering how he came into the house and chose our bedroom. - 20760

Biker Radio Show

By LJ James

I have been writing about the Biker Lifestyle for years as a freelance writer and I have also been DJing Bike events for many years. I knew I wanted to bring the two together and do a Biker Style radio show right from the beginning. I had spoken with local stations in my area about doing a Biker radio show and each time the radio station either wanted lots of money up front or they just wanted nothing to do with a Biker radio show. The Biker market is what they call a niche Market and stations want shows that will appeal to everyone.

I knew that the motorcycle market was going to be tough. If I was to use regular radio station I was going to only be able offer the show to local Bikers and it would be a show that was on only at a certain time every week, so if you missed the show well that's it you missed it. This is not what I really wanted.

I wanted a show where Bikers from all over the world could listen in and be part of it. Being We are Bikers and never know where we will be at any given time I also wanted the Bikers to be able to listen to the show on their time schedule. The answer I knew was the Internet. But how to do it? I had no Idea.

I didn't have the cash to start my own Internet radio station. So I started looking into existing Internet stations. Again the same problems everyone wanted money upfront and the shows would only be on at a certain time! I knew there was a way to make this work I just did not know what it was!

The answer came during the Summer of 2008 when a guy from Florida called the Paisan sent me an email saying he had read some of my articles and he would like to interview me on his Internet radio show called Sundays Sauce Pot. I called him and after speaking to him I agreed to be on the show.

The show I did with the Paisan and his partner Danny Dawg was unforgettable and I had a great time. I developed a friendship with Danny Dawg and the Paisan. When I told them how I wanted to do my own Show for years they where happy to explain how I could do a show like theirs. The show would go Live at 8pm on Wednesdays and could be listen to from the beginning any time a person went to the website from any computer world wide 24 hours a day 7 days a week. This was perfect it was everything I had been looking for over 10 years! With help I figured out how to work every thing and the Biker Lowdown Radio Show was born.

I had originally planned on waiting to start the show in January as I wanted to make sure everything was perfect! Then I remembered nothing in life is perfect and I just started the show as is. The response the show has received has been beyond anything I could have hoped for and has really been overwhelming!

The Biker Lowdown chat room gets busier every week and it lets listeners know they are really a part of the show! My goals for the show is to be entertaining and let all who Ride know what is going on in the Motorcycle world at the same time. I am also working on a much larger more inter active website and I am getting ready to start having T-Shirts, Bumper Stickers and so much more to give out to my listens at events! I invite you all to check out the show at BikerLowdown.com let me know what you think and what topics you would like to talk about !

How To Copy Wii Games - Explode Your Wii Game Collection

By Sjaak de Wit

Over 24,000,000 Wii Game Computers have been bought by consumers worldwide. If you compare it to the sales of other game console, the wii is outselling any other console on the market today. The games for the wii are being published at a huge pace. Much faster than the games for the xbox and ps3.

In this generation of game consoles there are three competing consoles. Microsoft's xbox 360, Sony's Playstation 3 and the Wii. Although they are considered direct competitors of each other, there is one that completely stands out above the other 3. It's the Nintendo Wii. The wii speaks to all age groups (form 3 up to 83), because of the way it is controlled by the human player.

Originally, Nintendo announced its new games console on the 2005 edition of the famous E3. It did not call it the Wii originally. Originally it was named Revolution. The most revolutionary feature of the Wii is that the controls are completely wireless. The Wii mote is communicating with a bar on top of your television. This way the wii calculates where you are pointing your controller on your screen.

Game ratings and Types. The Wii Games are divided into various categories. For example role playing, sports games, racing games, exercise copy wii games, music games etc. etc. According to Top Global Markets Report the most popular of all games in 2008 was Mario Kart with the wii wheel.

New copies of games are being released for Nintendo Wii all the time, including games featuring some of Nintendos most beloved characters. You can spend hours playing the different motion-sensored Wii games and have enjoyed getting Wii-itis in your arm and elbow.

The quality rating of Wii games can be somewhat misleading if graphics are your number-one priority; some of the best-rated games have some of the lowest-quality graphics, and vice versa.

Like all video games, Wii games have an ESRB rating system to help you determine if a game is right for you, your children, your friends or your whole family: E = everyone, E10 = 10 years or older, T = teen and M = mature.

Based on published ratings, the current greatest Wii Games are: Wii Fit, Wii Play, wii Sports Super Mario Galaxy, Mario Party 8 and Madden Football.

Copy Wii Games. Once you have narrowed your Wii Game choices, check out the following: Reviews and rankings: compare reviews by current users of the games, and do a quick Google Wii search to check out current rankings of games.

Copying and downloading wii games is a great way to dramatically expand your wii Games collection. If your Nintendo Wii is close to a computer thats connected to the Internet, you can use a Nintendo Wi-Fi USB connector to connect the two and get online with your Wii. There are many great software packages and download subscriptions out there. - 20760

T-Shirts Become You (And Me)

By James Gilbert Pynn

Can a T-shirt by any other name still as sweet? A question for the ages. Am I obsessed, to a fault, with comfort? Have I gone off the deep end with my single-minded, heated obsession with the glorious, humble T-shirt? Perhaps. I have a problem, I can admit that. But if you grew up watching James Dean, Marlon Brando, and Monty Clift slouching about, yelling in the rain, and looking disinterested, youd have a fixed obsession with this simple piece of clothing.

There are a handful of iconic articles of clothing. You can count them on one had " maybe two. Theres the Schott biker jacket, Levis jeans, Members Only windbreakers, Converse All Stars, and then " drum roll, please " the glorious T. Now, Im sure some of you fashionistas could expand my list " more power to you. You could twist my arm and add Doc Martens, pea coats, and even the trusty wing tip, but my aim here is to make it very clear how much I love the simplest of garments, this under-vest, this T-shirt.

A T-shirt is a very specific thing. Dont let the big guys fool you (read as Hanes or FTL) into thinking anything thats not a button-down Oxford qualifies as a training shirt. It doesnt. A tank top is just that " not a T-shirt! A long-sleeved T-shirt is not a T-shirt; its a knit shirt. Or something like that. There is no such thing as a short or long or collar T! Anything longer or shorter than the classic crew neck (I will give you the V neck) is something else.

For the most part, a T-shirt is made out of cotton (sometimes polyester, sometimes both) that is knitted together with something called a jersey stitch, which gives this godly garment its distinct, unrivaled texture. Ah, the sweet relief of sliding on a fresh clean T " you would be hard pressed to find such a singular sensation. I dare you! It is the ultimate in comfort, despite some formalists who decry the T as some kind of symbol of the degradation of the Western world. The fall of Rome, brought on by the lowly T-shirt. Ridiculous.

Although clever people in ad agencies have managed to turn people who don my garment into human billboards, all is not lost. Yes, the corporate grubs love to silkscreen their logos and slogans on finely knitted T-shirts, but lets not forget how the T can be the most powerful grass roots tool. All you need is a felt-tip pen (I suggest a Sharpie) and your Philosophy 101 book thats been collecting dust in the basement. Presto-bingo: instant slogan and social relevance. Hopefully. Cool T-shirts are whim away. Go get whimsical, and dont forget your training shirt! - 20760

Top Crafts Secrets

By Anne Durrell

Martha Stewart has built her work on teaching people the pleasure of crafts. The truth is that there are so many things of crafts out there that whole megastores such as Michael's and Hobby Lobby which are dedicated to providing people along with all of the materials that they would possibly need to try any type of craft.

A craft is usually a project that one makes with their own hands. There are many different crafts for people to work on in existence. For example, one of the most popular types of crafts out there is needlecrafts.

With needlework, you may produce something nice for your home or to give as a gift. Inside the needlework variety, you may find crafts such as crochet, knitting, cross-stitch, embroidery, and quilt making. Each of these is very diverse, but each may leave you with a beautiful product of the time that you have spent crafting.

There really are tons of crafts out there which can inspire everyone passion just like decoupage (the art of screening a surface along with pictures and paper), or woodcarving. Crafting has become a remarkably large industry as there is something therapeutic about making a project within your own two hands that you may be proud of and either show off in your home or offer as a gift.

Having that you spent time on it makes it even more exclusive than something that you might have otherwise purchased. Even a child can get into creating crafts as the skills that you need to make them push the development of creativity and get motor skills. Crafts are generally quite cheap to do as well, but shall afford plenty of satisfaction for a tiny cost. - 20760

LJ James reviews "Sons Of Anarchy"

By LJ James

I have just finished reviewing the 2nd episode of the new FX show "Son's of Anarchy". I have been a fan of the FX Show "The Shield" for years and I have to say, I have enjoyed "Sons of Anarchy" so far. The show has great bikes and lots of action!

As a Member of an Outlaw Motorcycle Club, I have already seen many mistakes in the show. One thing that's really surprising to me is how people have reacted to the show and me personally. People who know I'm a member of a Motorcycle Club are asking me, "You guys aren't like that, are you?" Some of these people have known me for years! Now after a couple of episodes of "Sons of Anarchy" their wondering if I'm leading some kind of double life.

Can you imagine if a show about criminal killer Florists came out? How many people would ask the local florist if they where really like that? One fact of life about being a Biker I have come to except is, it's real easy for people to think of Bikers as the bad guys. It's always been that way. I wonder how many Cops had people ask them the same question when the Shield came out? I also wonder how many Police Officers who watch the Shield and know that show is fiction will watch "Sons of Anarchy" and think that's how Motorcycle Clubs really are! The show "Sons of Anarchy" is fiction and it is way over the top.

Son's of Anarchy is going to shine a lot of light onto the Motorcycle Club world. Where as the last 10 years have been all about Motorcycle Builders and has led to a lot of people getting into Motorcycle Riding, I believe the next 10 years will be all about Motorcycle Clubs. Now this show could be a good thing for Motorcycle Clubs if, in-between all the fictional action, it also focuses on the bond of Brotherhood Motorcycle Clubs are based on.

Although the opportunity for "Sons of Anarchy" to make a positive statement about Motorcycle Clubs by highlighting the good Motorcycle Clubs do and the positive impact that they have on their communities exists, I have a feeling the show will have a negative impact on Clubs, Independent Bikers, and the Motorcycle Community in overall.

All Motorcycle Clubs are going to need to keep their eyes wide open and watch any new prospects. MCs need to make sure that new prospects are there for the Brotherhood and betterment of the Club and the community, not to live out some misguided fantasy they may have seen on TV or in some Movie. Another big concern of mine is people who will just go out and throw on a set of patches and think they are the "Sons of Anarchy". The Motorcycle Club world is all about Respect and there is a serious protocol that is followed by all Clubs. I would not recommend violating that protocol in any way.

Motorcycle Clubs have spent the better part of the past 20 years working hard to shake the old biker gang stereotype of the 60's and 70's. Now that we have come so close to accomplishing our goals, a show like "Sons of Anarchy" or the upcoming HBO show 1% are here to try and drag our image back into the gang image. How far will these shows set us back? 20-30 Years? I am asking the producers of these shows, there sponsors, and everyone else out there to please remember that Brotherhood is what the Motorcycle Club world is truly about.

Do You Want To Download WII Games?

By Patrick Stewart

Over recent time the new Wii console has become increasingly popular which has led to a vast amount of people wishing to know if they can download free Wii games. When conducting a simple search online, there are a wide variety of sites that offer Wii game downloads and the possibilities of obtaining the games. Whether these particular sites are in fact reliable as well as being virus free and providing games that are of quality is difficult to verify.

Both new releases and older games will be offered by good Wii sites. You have the ability to download your old favorites, as well as demanded new games as classic Nintendo games are supported by the Wii. Do a search for a site offering a good variety of different games if downloading free Wii games is something that you wish to do. Your personal information and money should not be given to a site that you do not trust, or one that does not feel quite right. Remain with sites that have been well designed and will not sell your personal information or overload your computer with malware.

You will generally find that there are two different kinds of websites that offer Wii game downloads. With some, you are charged for every download that you make, whereas others will allow you access to an unlimited number of downloads for a one-time flat rate. Which type of website you choose is likely to be determined by the number of games you require. The offer of unlimited downloads would be the best choice for you if you wish to download extensive Wii games. It may be a better choice to only pay for one download if you just require one special Wii game that you cannot locate anywhere else as this will be cheaper.

You may be required to download special software in order to download free Wii games. The software will enable you to download the Wii games that you require, either by connecting you to the main server of that site to other users of the site. Don't forget you will also need to locate an emulator that operates in exactly the same way that the Nintendo console would and remember to play downloaded games on your computer.

The selection of the site from which you wish to download the games from can be a little more difficult than simply locating a website that you can download free Wii games. Prior to selecting one to download, cautiously check all available sites. Select your chosen website, register, and you could be downloading your favorite Wii games within only a few minutes. - 20760

Cheap Hotels in Amsterdam: Myth or Reality?

By Jetse Holland

Show me a person who doesn't want to travel and see the world, and I bet you there's something wrong with him. Humans are like this: they want to travel, they want to see new places, and amongst all, Europe has great touristic objectives. Amsterdam is one of the cities in Europe which lives out of tourism.

Finding cheap hotels in Amsterdam should not be a problem for anybody, if you make your bookings at least one month ahead your trip.

There are several cheap hotels in the central area of Amsterdam. They are suitable for people who want to make the most out of their vacation and visit as many touristic objectives as possible. Bema hotel and Ibis hotel are only two examples of inexpensive but comfortable lodging.

If luxury hotels are not for you, maybe you can investigate the possibility of getting accommodation in a hostel. Prices in hostels are much lower. If you go out of season, you can sleep for as low as 15-20 Euro per night. Rooms are locked during the day, but there's a lot to be visited anyway in Amsterdam.

Although they are situated in very old buildings, many hotels in the central area of Amsterdam have been renovated, so they offer modern conditions. Some hotels were bought by foreign investors, who are now advertising to tourists from they native country. Such hotels are usually cheap. An example is Bema hotel.

When traveling on a shoe string budget, don't forget to search for all transportation facilities that are around the potential hotels. You want to spend as little as possible for transport, so cabs are out of the question. Be wise, and save your money for a nice dinner or two.

When visiting Amsterdam, a ride on the canals is a must. It gives you the chance to see the beauty of this old city at its highest. Of course, the Van Gogh museum and Anne Frank's house are two other famous objectives to visit. - 20760

5 Simple Steps To Restore Antique Lionel Trains

By Mira Dubus

Has your Lionel train seen better days? Wouldn't it be pleasant to see it chugging around on its track again, radiating the comparable sweetheart as the day it was found that Christmas morning so long ago?

Recreating and reconstructing your old Lionel train can be very satisfying. You can relish in the warm gleam of memories of past, and then make fresh memories to go along with them!

The pleasant thing is, you can do this yourself with just a little patience and know-how! At One Time you've repaired it, maintaining your old train's glory is by and large a issue of a tap of oil at present and so in the exact targets to keep it functioning smoothly.

How do you reconstruct Lionel Trains?

The introductory step in restoring an old Lionel train is to get it all cleaned up.

Wipe it all off with a soft cloth to dispatch junk and dirt.

You can get rid of rust with rust remover or sand paper. If you see green or covered white spots, that is oxidization, and you can get rid of it with oxidization remover.

The final part in your cleaning is to wipe down the tracks, the wheels of the cars, and any moving parts with a light oil spray. Use Q-Tips soaked with the oil to get into smaller areas, like the wheels, and use a soft cloth soaked with the oil for the tracks. Buff it all up with a clean part of the cloth.

Arrange a pat of the oil on whatever moving divisions, and function it in so that they move smoothly and easy. You can use a toothpick to catch tiny bits of oil for the small parts.

If it is clean and still doesn't run, check to see if the plug is performing. If the plug sees Fine, it may be that the transformer needs repair or substitute.

Is a Bat a Nocturnal Animal

By Richard Guzman

Andrew's class has an oral report due next week. They have been studying nocturnal animals. Nocturnal animals sleep during the day and stay awake at night. His assignment is to pick a nocturnal animal and share what he learned with the class. He is the only student in the class who hasn't picked one.

Andrew's friend "The Brain" slept over last night. After everyone was asleep, they snuck out to look for nocturnal animals. Andrew was bored. To entertain himself he thought it would be fun to hang upside down on a tree branch. That wasn't such a bright idea. The branch broke and so did his arm.

Although, he was restricted from some activities and even some chores he still had to do his oral report. I know it sounds unbelievable but his report is due Monday and he still hasn't picked a nocturnal animal.

He convinced his mother to let him go over to friends' house. His friend was going to help him pick a nocturnal animal and help him research it on the computer. The funniest thing happened as soon as he got to his friends' house. His friends' Mom was still puzzled. She wanted to know why he was hanging upside down in a tree at night like a bat. Andrew finally realized what nocturnal animal his report was going to be about! A bat!

Jake and Andrew looked for websites that had information about bats. Andrew learned many interesting and fascinating facts about them. He learned that a bat was a mammal, just like we are. He also found it cool how insect eating bats move around in the dark, a process called echolocation. This means when a bat sends out a high pitched sound a sound bounces off objects around them and comes back to their ears. Also, when a bat rests he hangs upside down. I bet he doesn't break very many branches and arms. Andrew is so excited that his report is really coming together. When he got home he practiced his oral report in front of the family. He decided to take his sisters' advice and add pictures. Today the reports were due. Andrew was picked to go first and he was fantastic!Looking back, he realized that he should have gone about picking a nocturnal animal differently. All the worrying was for nothing.

In the future Andrew will relax! Andrew admits he gets overwhelmed easily. The teacher doesn't even finish her sentence and he becomes nervous. As soon as he hears the word "project" his stomach does flip flops and whatever she says after that is "blocked out". Andrew agrees this sounds pretty accurate. Perhaps, it would be in his best interest to research the topic on the computer first. Andrew agrees 100%. He said utilizing the computer should never be his last priority. He was really surprised how many websites were just a few clicks away from the topic he needed information on. For example; Google, Yahoo, and Ask.com are very helpful and simple to use to find out information. Andrew, realizes that on any of the above websites, he simply has to type a sentence or the main words of your topic. It is unbelievable how fast the results are displayed...in seconds.

Andrew, thought about it and using a computer is so much easier than sneaking out and getting injured. Andrew said he did not look at the big picture when he made his careless decision. He also believes that this experience has taught him to stop and think before making any hasty decisions in the future. Andrew, knows if he has any other questions to just ask a family member someone will be more than happy to help him with his dilemma. - 20760

There is Cuteness in Uglydolls

By Kim Daly

Before, I am really curious and clueless if "Uglydolls" by David Horvath and Sun-Min Kim really exist. I just heard of them from some friends and did not get the chance to see them. I guess it is just natural for me to think that way as it is a bit absurd to think there are people who will create and eventually sell things are that are ugly. To my surprise, I tried to do a search online and I found out that Uglydolls by David Horvath and Sun-Min Kim really exist. They do since 2002 and were actually distinguished by many because they balance traditional cuteness with ugliness. In 2006, "Uglydolls" of the two toy designers were awarded by Toy Industry of America as the Specialty Toy of the Year.

The first time I saw the "Uglydolls" by David Horvath and Sun-Min Ki online, I found them cute. Despite their unusual look, there is cuteness in them considering they are small plush toys. I also found them as toys that kids will enjoy. Parents will enjoy them too as they will get good value for their money as they are handmade and so durable.

Ever since 2002, "Uglydolls" have been purely handmade. Sun-Min Kim started everything. At first, Little Uglys, Giant Uglydolls, plush key chains, and vinyl Uglydolls were introduced in the market.

Right now, "Uglydolls" are still purely handmade but their production is now in mainland China. It is believed that it is their being purely handmade ever since which have made them distinct from other dolls. Because they have been purely handmade, each doll features little variations, adding to dolls' uniqueness. For every doll, there is small tag which tells about the doll's notable personality.

At this stage, the different types or kinds of Uglydolls include:

* Abima

* Babo

* Babo's Bird

* Big Toe

* Bop 'n' Beep

* Chuckanucka

* Cinko

* Deer Ugly

* Deluxe

* Gato

* Ice Bat

* Jeero

* Moxy

* Ox

* Peaco

* Plunko

* Puglee

* Poe Target

* Tray

* Uglydog

* Uglyghost

* Uglyworm

* Wage (original one)

* Wedgehead

These dolls are being sold at some independent and specialty toy stores. There is still an issue with regards to their availability in mainstream outlets however just recently, they were seen at some mainstream stores like Nordstrom, Urban Outfitters and other big chains. Well, the issue should be solved right away to help enhance status of "Uglydolls" in the market. - 20760

Photoshop - Batch Processing

By David Peters

For those of you who don't already know, Photoshop has these nifty little features called Actions. Now, these actions can be used for many things, including the creation of beautiful and eye catching effects, maximizing your productivity, or simply to carry out the tedious and mundane tasks that you just doesn't feel like doing.

I recently had the pleasure of a little thing called Batch Processing. I'm a dedicated designer, but there was no way I was going sit in front of my computer for hours changing the Hue/Saturation for every single image for my forum. What is Batch Processing, you say? Well, it's something that processes a batch,and I'm going to show you how to do it.

When you're creating an action you need it to do one thing: Something. In my case, I needed to change the Hue/Saturation for 75+ images from blue to my "trademark" teal. Maybe you need an action for a different purpose, but humor me and tell yourself, "Hey, I need to make my image the same color as hers!" Next, you'll need something to work on. Get a small image, like an icon, preferably the one I'm using for this tutorial.

Next go to Windows - Actions, making sure it is checked. If checked, you should see a tab in the Layers Palette appropriately labeled Actions.

Click on the arrow button to expand the Actions menu and choose "new set." This creates a folder for the action you create (you don't necessarily need the folder, it simply helps with organization.)

Go back to the Actions menu and select "New Action." I'll give you three guesses as to what this does. Now, before recording an action you need to figure out the steps you'll need to take and the order in which you'll need to take them. Since this is a pretty simple action you can do this is your sleep eventually.

Now for the recording part. There will be a small circle icon between the square and the triangle at the bottom of the palette that you will need to click. Now Photoshop will record everything you do until the end of the Action. If you have an error, simply stop the Action by pushing the square icon and go back to your last step taken.

For our action, the first thing we need to do is change the Mode of the image to RGB, since .gif files are saved in Index mode which don't take too kindly to colorization. So with the action recording, go to Image - Mode - RGB.

Next, we'll have to strip the image of it's current color to make adding our (my) own color easier to apply, so go to Image - Adjustment - Desaturate.

Now that we have a naked grey image, we need to add some color. Make sure your action is still recording and go to Image - Adjustments - Hue/Saturation. I have the settings for my teal color saved in a .ahu (Hue/Saturation) file already so all I have to do is click Load and select Teal.ahu, but since you don't have that you'll have to use the sliders. Use these settings for my color:

Finally, we save it for the web. Check that your action is still recording and go to File - Save For the Web and set your file type and optimization settings. I use the customary GIF settings. Choose the destination directory and save.

Now you can press the square button on the actions tab and stop recording. To put your newly created action into action, we'll need to do a Batch Process. A batch process will take all the images in a specified directory and apply whatever changes were recorded in the action.

Begin by going to File -Automate - Batch and make sure the name of the Action Set you just made is in the first dropdown list and the name of the Action is in the second. Set the third dropdown box (next to Source) to Folder and use the Choose button to find your duplicated or created folder of images. For destination, you can leave it set to it's default "None" to have the action applied and saved in the source folder, or save the "actionized" images into a separate folder. Click OK once you have everything set to your liking..

The hard part of the job is now done for you! All that is left is to relax and watch your pictures color themselves thanks to Actions and Batch Processing. - 20760
